Eleanor May Oulton was from Coleman, PEI. She graduated from The United Church Training School in 1931 or 1932. She was designated as a Deaconess June 7, 1933 at Montreal-Ottawa Conference, held in Montreal.
Eleanor worked as a teacher under the Home Mission Board of The United Church at Caughnawaga Indian (Day) School. When Eleanor married Wm. A. Trenholm in 1936 the minutes of the Committee on Deaconesses and Women Workers (General Council) note that she has “taken a husband unto herself” and she was declared disjoined from the Order of Deaconesses.
